Definition and working principle of turning

Turning is a method of cutting workpieces using a cutting tool. It generates cutting force by rotating the workpiece while simultaneously moving the tool along the axis of the workpiece, thereby removing excess material from the workpiece and ultimately obtaining the desired shape and size. Turning is widely used in the processing of various non-axisymmetric, complex curved surfaces, precision parts and mass production.
